Southland is well known for its beautiful, varied and dramatic landscapes, ranging from rugged coastlines to alpine terrain to rich, fertile farmland. This diversity holds true for the 26 golf courses within the region, with each course offering different terrain, scenery and course characteristics making it very unique. With the abundance of different courses Southland golfers have the luxury of choosing from a number of courses within close proximity to suit their mood. Although many things change from course to course one thing is consistent and that is that each course represents outstanding value for money with its quality far exceeding its green fee.

Another feature of Southland, much loved by golfers, is the abundance of time. During the Summer the twilight extends for hours enabling the avid golfer to get the most out of their day by playing until 10:00pm.


The concentration of courses and abundance of light is best emphasised by the regional record for the most holes played in one day being 108 different holes!.
